What Will You Do Without Freedom?

Freedom.
It's given by God.
And taken by men.
But real freedom cannot be wholly eliminated.
Because real freedom is in free will.

When Obama was voted into the office of the Presidency, he vowed to change America as we know it.
He's kept his vow.
Many people who researched and listened to him during the campaign knew what he meant when he spoke of hope and change.
We knew his ideology.
We knew his views on life and liberty.
The words and warnings have all been written, read and spoken, and this is what we have.

We have a President who believes in centralized power--the power of the government.
This healthcare bill has within its thousands of pages the words which will remove all choice from the people.
The debt it will incur has the ability to enslave a nation.
The regulations it demands will empower federal government to an extent never before seen in this country.
It will be the end of our freedom.

...or will it?

This government control of one-sixth of the economy and unquantified control of our daily lives can do a lot of damage.
They can tell me what to eat, what to drink, where to live and how to think.
But they can't force me to eat, drink, live and think their way.
They can drive me into poverty, but they can't drive me to despair.
Because true freedom isn't what the government says it is.
It's what God says it is.
We can find it on Easter Sunday when we remember the empty tomb.
We can know it in a jail cell when we pray.
We can feel it in our hearts when we speak the truth.

To quote the character of William Wallace in the movie, "Braveheart":
"They can take our lives...but they can never take OUR FREEDOM!"

  1. Thanks, Diane. :)

It's people like you who give me hope this country will fight when tyranny rears its ugly head.

    ...and it's rearin' right now!
